About Me & Edgy Metal

MEET OUR FOUNDER,

peter noble

The face, heart and hands behind Edgy Metal, crafting jewellery from my base on England’s rugged North East coast. This isn’t your average bling — my pieces are bold, chunky, and dripping with attitude. If dainty, disposable trinkets are your thing, you’re fired!

It started with a gift for my wife — a pendant born from a potent clusterf@#k of ideas, sparked by emotions, and packed with meaning: Egyptian and Roman echoes, a birthstone, family ties. I shaped it in my hands until it felt right to hold, and she cried – I got a tattoo. That ignited something. From personal creations for friends to collections for a local store and an art gallery, it was a passion, until life intervened to make it my job. Christmas 2015 Edgy Metal was let loose.

Every design begins with a feeling — an idea I chase until it’s real. I work it by hand, moulding it into something that’s not just striking to see but sensational to hold. Quality’s an obsession of pride and integrity; my jewellery pieces carry a personal edge you won’t find anywhere else.

what drives me

Emotions, feelings, family, the raw pulse of nature — it all fuels me. I’m obsessed with designs that are clever and hit deep, blending beauty with a story. Look at my first piece: crafted after our child’s birth, it’s got Egyptian “10” symbols, a Roman “X,” an Ankh (we got engaged inside a pitch-black tomb in a pyramid), and a Tsavorite Garnet shaped like a triangle for femininity. Every curve means something.

How It Happens

From a spark on this wild coast (staring into space and getting drunk also helps!), I sketch with pencil and paper, and carve each design in jeweller’s wax. When it’s right — when it *feels* right — it’s cast in Sterling silver or gold, then hand-finished with mentally unstablising attention to detail. My blog’s got the full story on the process if you’re curious.

The Point

I don’t like jewellery! Jewellery should move you. Often it really doesn’t make me feel anything (apart from poor). Mine does things to me — visually, emotionally, in my hands, on your body. If I can’t feel anything from it – I don’t want to make it. If my jewellery doesn’t mean something to you – why buy it… Find something that does.

Handcrafted with Passion.
